Ameriabank tops the list of banking system taxpayers according to 2019 Q1, Q2 and Q3 results

The State Revenue Committee has published the list of 1,000 top taxpayers in January-September 2019 and the amounts of taxes and other dues paid by them, the State Revenue Committee told Business 24.

The list of top taxpayers includes, among others, the Armenia-based banks. Based on the results for January-September 2019, the leading taxpayer of the banking sector is Ameriabank. The amount of taxes paid by the bank increased by AMD 1.71 billion, up by 34.54% Y-o-Y, totaling AMD 6.66 billion. The bank ranks 15th in the Top 1,000 Taxpayers List.

ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank ranks second, with AMD 5.36 billion paid in taxes. The bank reported 7.68% increase in taxes Y-o-Y, up by AMD 0.38 billion. The bank ranks 20th in the total list.

Armbusinessbank comes in third, with the total amount of paid taxes equal to AMD 3.91 billion. The amount of taxes paid by the bank increased by AMD 0.76 billion, up by 24.13% from a year earlier. The bank ranks 33rd in the total taxpayers list.

Inecobank ranks forth, with AMD 3.79 billion paid in taxes. The bank reported decrease by 2.06% or AMD 0.08 billion in paid taxes (36th position in the total list).

Ardshinbank ranks fifth, having paid AMD 3.45 billion in taxes. The bank reported 1.25% increase in taxes, down by AMD 0.04 billion from a year earlier. The bank ranks 39th in the total list.

Converse Bank with AMD 2.90 billion comes in sixth. The amount of taxes paid by the bank increased by 2.38% or AMD 0.07 billion Y-o-Y. The bank ranks 46th in the total list.

Armeconombank is the seventh, with AMD 2.51 billion paid in taxes. The bank reported 26.35% increase in taxes Y-o-Y, up by AMD 0.52 billion. The bank is 52nd in the total list.

Armswissbank with AMD 2.28 billion ranks eighth. The bank reported 36.71% increase in taxes Y-o-Y, up by AMD 0.61 billion. The bank ranks 60th in the total taxpayers list.

Unibank with AMD 2.14 billion paid in taxes is the ninth among the banks. The bank reported 22.75% increase (AMD 0.40 billion) Y-o-Y. The bank ranks 67th in the total list.

Araratbank comes in tenth, with the total amount of paid taxes equal to AMD 1.88 billion. The amount of taxes paid by the bank increased by AMD 0.31 billion, up by 19.91% from a year earlier. The Bank ranks 81st in the total taxpayers list.

HSBC Bank Armenia with AMD 1.78 billion paid in taxes occupies 11th position. The amount of taxes paid by the bank increased by 29.48% (AMD 0.40 billion) Y-o-Y. The Bank ranks 88th in the total taxpayers list.

VTB Armenia is the 12th, with the total amount of paid taxes equal to AMD 1.55 billion, down by 54.72% (AMD 1.87 billion) from a year earlier. The Bank ranks 95th in the total taxpayers list.

Evocabank ranks 13th, with AMD 1.28 billion paid in taxes, up 42.93% (AMD 0.38 billion) Y-o-Y. The bank occupies 110th position in the total taxpayers.

ID Bank with AMD 1.08 billion is 14th. The amount of taxes paid by the bank increased by AMD 0.39 billion, up by 26.43% Y-o-Y. The bank is 124th in the total taxpayers list.

Mellat Bank ranks 15th, with AMD 0.79 billion paid in taxes. The bank reported 9.09% increase (AMD 0.07 billion) in taxes Y-o-Y and is 164th in the total list.

Byblos Bank comes in 16th, with AMD 0.77  billion paid in taxes. The amount of taxes paid by the bank soared by 115.69% (AMD 0.4 billion) as compared to the same period in 2018. The bank occupies 172nd position in the total taxpayer list.

Artsakhbank Central Branch with AMD 0.17 billion is 17th. The amount of taxes paid by the bank dropped by 1.31% (AMD 0.002 billion) Y-o-Y, with the bank ranking 739th in the total taxpayers list.

Overall, in January-September 2019, the banks paid AMD 42.32 billion in taxes, up by 9.43% or AMD 3.65 billion as compared to 2018.

The total amount of taxes paid by the banks makes 5.06% of the total amount paid by top 1,000 taxpayers in taxes. In 2018, this figure stood at 6.28%.

If denominated in USD (CBA exchange rate as of November 1, 2019, is AMD 476.46 per USD), the total amount of taxes paid by the banks made USD 88.81 million.

Value-wise, the highest increase in January-September 2019 was recorded by Ameriabank with AMD 1.71 billion. In terms of percentage increase, Byblos Bank Armenia tops the list, having recorded 115.69% increase.
